4 candidates for 3 seats on Warren Township’s faculty board.

Three of seven board seats are up for election in Metropolitan College District of Warren Township on the east facet of Marion County. Final 12 months round 11,600 college students had been enrolled within the district’s 15 colleges.

Who votes and easy methods to vote

All voters who reside within the faculty district boundary can vote for all of the at-large candidates. The highest three vote-getters will probably be elected to the college board.

Voter registration ends on Oct. 11. Marion County residents can register to vote at indianavoters.in.gov. 

Early voting begins on Oct. 12 on the Indianapolis Metropolis-County Constructing at 200 E. Market St. Extra early voting websites, together with one in Pike Township on the Indianapolis Public Library’s Pike Library Department, open on Oct. 29 and may be discovered on-line at https://vote.indy.gov/early-voting/. 

On Election Day on Nov. 8, Marion County residents can vote at any of the county’s voting facilities, which may be discovered at https://vote.indy.gov/. 

Meet the at-large candidates

Terri L. Amos

Amos is operating for her third time period on the Warren Township College Board. She is a trainer and her youngsters attend district colleges. Amos needs to deal with state and federal funding insurance policies that create challenges for the district, equivalent to staffing shortages and inequitable alternative entry amongst college students.  Amos is a member of the Indiana College Board Affiliation.

Rachel Burke

Burke is an incumbent and has served two non-consecutive phrases on the board. She is president of the Indiana Dad or mum Instructor Affiliation. Burke’s three youngsters have graduated from or are attending Warren colleges. She needs to prioritize instructional fairness when it comes to assembly the wants of all college students, notably those that have fallen behind throughout the pandemic.

Kevin Humphrey

Humphrey is the one non-incumbent operating for a board seat. He works as a postal service and has expertise instructing. He coaches youth soccer and has put three youngsters via Warren Township colleges. He plans on prioritizing training high quality and scholar security.

Dennis Orellana

Orellana has been on the board for one 12 months. He stated it is very important concentrate on connecting with Latinx mother and father and college students to grasp their wants and help them of their language. His purpose is to prioritize scholar security and training.
