BANGKOK — Rescuers on Monday evening plucked about 50 wild boars to security after they grew to become trapped in a flooded Ang Thong temple about 100 kilometers north of Bangkok.

Wat Sai in Muang district reached out to the Poh Teck Tung Basis after surging floodwater collapsed the temple’s wall and inundated its compound.

A temple official mentioned the wild boars have been donated by worshippers and have been being raised in a pen.

The official mentioned the water rose so quick that temple employees had no time to evacuate the boars.

Ang Thong is amongst downstream provinces flooded after the Chao Phraya Dam in Chai Nat elevated its discharge charge amid weeks of heavy rain within the North.
